The South Johnston Trojans football squad scored 7 points and limited the host Smithfield-Selma Spartans to 2 in the Trojans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Trojans now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Fike for a non-league test on Thursday, August 28. South Johnston will face a Golden Demons team coming off a 47-20 non-league win over North Moore (Robbins, NC). The Golden Demons record now stands at 1-0.

The Spartans (0-1) will now prepare for their game against West Johnston (Benson, NC). The Wildcats enter the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, West Johnston was edged by South Garner (Garner, NC), 20-0, in a non-league game.
