August 23, 2023: Forest City, NC 28043 The crowd at Wednesday's non-league bout between the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) and the visiting Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), saw Chase's volleyball squad beat Shelby by a tally of 3-1.
With the win, Chase upgrades its record to 4-0 on the year. The Trojans host East Henderson (East Flat Rock, NC) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Monday, August 28. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 2-3. East Henderson lost 3-0 in their recent league bout against Franklin (Franklin, NC)
The Golden Lions now own a 0-3 record. They play next when they host Cherryville for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A bout on Thursday, August 24. Shelby will play a Ironmen squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to East Rutherford (Forest City, NC). The Ironmen record now stands at 1-4.
