Alabama High School Football - Cleveland holds off Whitesburg Christian Academy
August 23, 2024: Huntsville, AL 35802 The Cleveland Panthers football squad scored 18 points and limited the host Whitesburg Christian Academy Warriors to 16 in the Panthers non-league triumph on Friday.
The Panthers now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Appalachian for a non-league test on Friday, August 30. Cleveland will clash with a Eagles squad coming off a 28-18 non-league win over Holly Pond (Holly Pond, AL). The Eagles record now stands at 1-0.
With the defeat, Whitesburg Christian Academy drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Warriors host Brindlee Mountain (Guntersville, AL) to clash with the Lions in a 3A Region 8 test on Friday, August 30. The Lions come into the test with a record of 0-1. Brindlee Mountain lost 22-8 in their recent non-league test against Kate Duncan Smith DAR (Grant, AL)
