August 23, 2024: Marianna, AR 72360 Corning Bobcats (Corning, AR) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the host Lee Academy Cougars (Marianna, AR), 50-12 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Corning advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bobcats host Rector (Rector, AR) to play the Cougars in a non-league battle on Friday, September 6. The Cougars go into the battle with a record of 0-0.
The Cougars now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they host DeSoto for a MAIS 8-Man 2A District 1 (8 Man) battle on Friday, September 6. Lee Academy will play a Thunderbirds team coming off a 56-14 non-league win over Calhoun Academy (Calhoun City, MS). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 1-0.
