Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Gates County Red Barons (Gatesville, NC), 26-12 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Hertford County advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Bears host Tarboro (Tarboro, NC) to encounter the Vikings in a non-league battle on Thursday, August 29. The Vikings go into the battle with a record of 1-0. Tarboro won 30-0 in their recent non-league battle against Rocky Mount (Rocky Mount, NC)
