New Mexico High School Football - Portales holds off Goddard

The Portales Rams football squad scored 22 points and limited the host Goddard Rockets to 16 in the Rams non-league triumph on Friday.

The Rams now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Lovington for a non-league test on Friday, August 30. Portales will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 31-22 non-league win over Hobbs (Hobbs, NM). The Wildcats record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Goddard drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Rockets host Carlsbad (Carlsbad, NM) to clash with the Cavemen/Cavegirls in a non-league test on Thursday, August 29. The Cavemen/Cavegirls come into the test with a record of 0-1. Carlsbad lost 44-7 in their recent non-league test against Artesia (Artesia, NM)
