The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the River Valley Falcons (Yuba City, CA) and the visiting McClatchy Lions (Sacramento, CA), witnessed River Valley's football squad topple McClatchy by a count of 48-31.

The Falcons (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Pioneer (Woodland, CA). The Patriots enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, Pioneer thwarted Dixon (Dixon, CA), 35-0, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Lions confront the Franklin Wildcats (Elk Grove, CA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, August 30. McClatchy will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Wildcats enter the contest with a 1-0 record after their 44-6 non-league win over Johnson (Sacramento, CA).
