In Saturday's non-league match, the host Covenant Day Lions football squad scored a good 39-26 victory over the Mount Zion Christian Academy Mighty Warriors.

The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] (Concord, NC). The Cougars enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Cannon [Cannon/Concord Academy] was beaten by High Point Christian Academy (High Point, NC), 34-14, in a non-league battle.

The Mighty Warriors now own a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Northern Durham for a non-league battle on Friday, September 5.
