In Thursday's non-league game, the Capistrano Valley Cougars (Mission Viejo, CA) football team were victorious over the host Sunny Hills Lancers (Fullerton, CA), by a score of 21-7.

The Cougars (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Santiago (Corona, CA). The Sharks come into the non-league game with a 0-2 record. In their last game, Santiago was knocked off by Colony (Ontario, CA), 26-14, in a non-league game.

The Lancers now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to El Modena for a non-league game on Saturday, September 3. Sunny Hills will meet a Vanguards team coming off a 38-0 non-league win over Santa Ana (Santa Ana, CA). The Vanguards record now stands at 1-0.
