The Anchor Bay Tars (Fair Haven, MI) football defeated the host Port Huron Big Reds (Port Huron, MI), 34-12 in Friday's non-league bout.

In their next game, the Tars face the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils (Grosse Pointe, MI) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, August 31. Anchor Bay will attempt to advance on its 1-0 season record. The Blue Devils enter the bout with a 1-0 record after their 38-3 non-league win over Port Huron Northern (Port Huron, MI).

The Big Reds (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against Eastpointe (Eastpointe, MI). The Shamrocks enter the non-league bout with a 1-0 record. In their last bout, Eastpointe defeated Crestwood (Dearborn Heights, MI), 34-28, in a non-league bout.
