Texas High School Football - Vega knocks off Bovina

The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Vega Longhorns (Vega, TX) and the host Bovina Mustangs (Bovina, TX), observed Vega's football squad thwart Bovina by a count of 39-26.

The Longhorns now own a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Farwell for a non-league contest on Friday, September 1. Vega will play a Steers squad coming off a 40-30 non-league win over New Deal (New Deal, TX). The Steers record now stands at 1-0.

Coming up next, the Mustangs play the Seagraves Eagles (Seagraves, TX) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, August 31. Bovina will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Eagles go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 34-14 non-league loss to Lockney (Lockney, TX).
