The Union Bears football squad scored 34 points and restricted the host Lee Generals to 0 in the Bears league victory on Friday.

The Bears now possess a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Richlands for a non-league battle on Friday, September 1. Union will play a Blue Tornado squad coming off a 34-7 non-league loss to Gate City (Gate City, VA). The Blue Tornado record now stands at 0-1.

Coming up next, the Generals play the Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA) in a non-league battle, on Friday, September 1. Lee will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Pioneers enter the battle with a 1-0 record after their 20-0 non-league win over Cumberland Gap (Cumberland Gap, TN).
