Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS) backers left the game in high spirits Friday as they observed their volleyball squad hold off the visiting Briarwood Christian Lions (Birmingham, AL), 2-1 in a non-league match.

Next up, the Cougars battle the St. John Paul II Falcons (Huntsville, AL) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 25. Northwest Rankin will attempt to better on its 7-6 season record.

With the loss, Briarwood Christian drops to 2-2 on the campaign. The Lions travel to St. John Paul II (Huntsville, AL) to battle the Falcons in a non-league match on Saturday, August 26.
