In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Slippery Rock Rockets football squad scored a good 37-20 victory over the General McLane Lancers.

In their next game, the Rockets clash with the Mercyhurst Prep Lakers (Erie, PA) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 2. Slippery Rock will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Lakers enter the match with a 0-1 record after their 17-7 non-league loss to Fairview (Fairview, PA).

The Lancers (0-1) will now prepare for their match against Fort LeBoeuf (Waterford, PA). The Bison enter the non-league match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Fort LeBoeuf thwarted Conneaut Area (Linesville, PA), 63-6, in a non-league match.
