In Friday's non-league game, the Pleasant Valley Vikings (Chico, CA) football team knocked off the host Corning Cardinals (Corning, CA), by a final score of 43-14.

The Vikings (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Las Plumas (Oroville, CA). The Thunderbirds come into the non-league game with a 0-0 record.

The Cardinals now hold a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to University Prep for a non-league game on Friday, September 2. Corning will battle a Panthers team coming off a 21-20 non-league win over Fortuna (Fortuna, CA). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.
