August 26, 2023: Claysville, PA 15323 McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA) supporters were pleased Saturday as they observed their soccer team prevail over the visiting Steel Valley Ironmen (Munhall, PA), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Highlanders confront the Waynesburg Central Raiders (Waynesburg, PA) in a WPIAL AA 3 challenge, on Tuesday, August 29. McGuffey will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Raiders enter the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Chartiers-Houston (Houston, PA).
The Ironmen now possess a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chartiers-Houston for a non-league challenge on Sunday, August 27. Steel Valley will confront a Buccaneers team coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Waynesburg Central (Waynesburg, PA). The Buccaneers record now stands at 0-2.
