In Saturday's non-league battle, the host Monta Vista Matadors volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the Summit Shasta Black Bears.

The Matadors (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against James Logan (Union City, CA). The Colts come into the non-league battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, James Logan was edged by Foothill (Pleasanton, CA), 3-1, in a non-league battle.
