August 26, 2025: Athens, IL 62613 Mt. Zion Braves (Mt. Zion, IL) boosters exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they witnessed their soccer squad knock off the host Athens/Greenview/Illini Central Warriors (Athens, IL), 3-1 in a non-league outing.
The Braves (1-0) will now prepare for their test against Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth (Warrensburg, IL). The Cardinals come into the non-league test with a 0-1 record. In their last test, Warrensburg-Latham/Maroa-Forsyth Decatur Eisenhower (Decatur, IL), 3-3, in a non-league test.
The Warriors now sport a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Lutheran/Calvary for a non-league outing on Thursday, August 28.
