The Mountain Heritage Cougars held off the host Erwin Warriors football team by a count of 28-21 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Mountain Heritage upgrades its record to 1-0 on the season. The Cougars host Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC) to confront the Black Knights in a non-league outing on Friday, September 3. The Black Knights go into the outing with a record of 1-1. Robbinsville lost 16-15 in their recent non-league outing against Brevard (Brevard, NC)

With the loss, Erwin moves to 0-2 on the season. The Warriors travel to Tuscola (Waynesville, NC) to confront the Mountaineers in a non-league outing on Friday, September 3. The Mountaineers go into the outing with a record of 1-1. Tuscola lost 42-36 in their recent non-league outing against T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC)
