In Friday's non-league game, the Lamar Savages (Lamar, CO) football team smashed the visiting Sierra Stallions (Colorado Springs, CO), by a final score of 40-8.

The Savages (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Burlington (Burlington, CO). The Cougars come into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Burlington was trounced by Elizabeth (Elizabeth, CO), 14-6, in a non-league game.

The Stallions now hold a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Thomas Jefferson for a non-league game on Thursday, September 2. Sierra will battle a Spartans team coming off a 38-30 non-league loss to Eagle Valley (Gypsum, CO). The Spartans record now stands at 0-1.
