Michigan High School Soccer - Mattawan knocks off Central
August 27, 2025: Battle Creek, MI 49017 Fans at Wednesday's non-league battle between the Mattawan Wildcats (Mattawan, MI) and the host Central Bearcats (Battle Creek, MI), saw Mattawan's soccer squad triumph over Central by a count of 8-0.
The Wildcats (3-1) will now prepare for their battle against Norrix (Kalamazoo, MI). The Knights enter the non-league battle with a 3-2 record. In their last battle, Norrix was overwhelmed by Portage Northern (Portage, MI), 1-0, in a non-league match.
The Bearcats now sport a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they host Lakeview for a Southwestern Michigan - East match on Tuesday, September 2. Central will meet a Spartans team coming off a 6-1 league loss to Portage Central (Portage, MI). The Spartans record now stands at 5-2.
