August 28, 2023: Mitchell, SD 57301 The Mitchell Kernels soccer team scored 4 points and limited the visiting Groton Tigers to 2 in the Kernels non-league victory on Monday.
Next, the Kernels face the Douglas/Rapid City Christian Patriot Comets (Box Elder, SD) in a Class AA contest, on Saturday, September 2. Mitchell will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Patriot Comets enter the contest with a 0-3 record after their 9-2 league loss to O'Gorman (Sioux Falls, SD).
The Tigers now have a 1-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Dakota Valley for a non-league contest on Friday, September 1.
