The Hokes Bluff Eagles (Hokes Bluff, AL) football knocked off the host Southside Panthers (Gadsden, AL), 28-7 in Thursday's non-league outing.

The Eagles now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Etowah for a 4A Region 6 outing on Friday, September 5. Hokes Bluff will clash with a Blue Devils squad coming off a 45-7 non-league loss to Jacksonville (Jacksonville, AL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Southside drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Panthers host Lee (Huntsville, AL) to clash with the Generals in a 6A Region 8 outing on Friday, September 5.
