North Carolina High School Football - Laney thwarted by Garner
August 28, 2025: Garner, NC 27529 Garner Trojans (Garner, NC) fans went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the visiting Laney Buccaneers (Wilmington, NC), 50-26 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Garner improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Trojans travel to Middle Creek (Apex, NC) to play the Mustangs in a non-league battle on Thursday, September 4. The Mustangs go into the battle with a record of 2-0. Middle Creek won 31-24 in their recent non-league battle against Willow Spring (Fuquay-Varina, NC)
The Buccaneers now have a 1-1 record. They play next when they host J.H. Rose for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 4. Laney will play a Rampants team coming off a 30-18 non-league loss to Northern Nash (Rocky Mount, NC). The Rampants record now stands at 0-1.
