North Carolina High School Football - Gray's Creek can't hold off Westover
August 28, 2025: Hope Mills, NC 28348 The Westover Wolverines held off the host Gray's Creek Bears football squad by a count of 24-22 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Wolverines now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Lumberton for a non-league test on Thursday, September 4. Westover will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 26-16 non-league win over St. Pauls (St. Pauls, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 2-0.
The Bears (0-2) will now prepare for their challenge against South View (Hope Mills, NC). The Tigers go into the non-league challenge with a 0-2 record. In their last challenge, South View was edged by Hoke County (Raeford, NC), 14-8, in a non-league challenge.
