August 28, 2025: Abingdon, IL 61410 Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes (Abingdon, IL) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Astoria/VIT Rebels (Astoria, IL), 2-0 in a non-league test.
With the win, Abingdon/Avon improves its record to 2-0 on the season. The Tornadoes host Elmwood (Elmwood, IL) to encounter the Trojans in a non-league test on Monday, September 1. The Trojans go into the test with a record of 0-0.
The Rebels now own a 0-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Beardstown for a non-league test on Monday, September 29.
