August 28, 2025: Mankato, MN 56001 Mankato East Cougars (Mankato, MN) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the visiting Winona Winhawks (Winona, MN), 3-1 in a league challenge.
The Cougars (1-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Northfield (Northfield, MN). The Raiders come into the Big 9 challenge with a 1-2 record. In their last challenge, Northfield was beaten by Prior Lake (Prior Lake, MN), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Winhawks meet the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons (Wabasha, MN) in a non-league test, on Tuesday, September 2. Winona will attempt to advance on its 0-3 season record. The Falcons go into the test with a 1-4 record after their 3-0 league loss to Dover-Eyota (Eyota, MN).
