August 28, 2025: Newton, IA 50208 The Newton Cardinals topped the visiting Twin Cedars Sabers volleyball squad by a final score of 2-0 in Thursday's non-league game.
Next up, the Cardinals confront the Indianola Indians (Indianola, IA) in a Little Hawkeye game, on Tuesday, September 2. Newton will attempt to advance on its 5-1 season record. The Indians go into the game with a 3-6 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Ankeny Christian Academy (Ankeny, IA).
The Sabers (1-2) will now prepare for their game against East Union (Afton, IA). The Eagles go into the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, East Union gained a win over Lamoni (Lamoni, IA), 3-2, in a non-league game.
