The Martin County Gators football squad scored 40 points and limited the host Ayden - Grifton Chargers to 21 in the Gators non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Gators now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Northside - Pinetown for a non-league test on Friday, September 6. Martin County will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 21-7 non-league loss to North Duplin (Calypso, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 1-1.

With the defeat, Ayden - Grifton drops to 0-2 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Kinston (Kinston, NC) to meet the Vikings in a non-league test on Friday, September 6.
