The John Champe Knights edged the host Briar Woods Falcons football team by a score of 7-6 in Thursday's non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Knights face the Lightridge Bolts (Aldie, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 6. John Champe will attempt to improve on its 1-0 season record. The Bolts enter the challenge with a 1-0 record after their 39-0 non-league win over Freedom (South Riding, VA).

The Falcons (0-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Loudoun County (Leesburg, VA). The Captains enter the non-league challenge with a 1-0 record. In their last challenge, Loudoun County held off Woodgrove (Purcellville, VA), 28-25, in a league challenge.
