North Carolina High School Football - Providence Day can't hold off Asheville
August 29, 2024: Asheville, NC 28801 Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC) followers went home in high spirits Thursday as they saw their football team tip the visiting Providence Day Chargers (Charlotte, NC), 14-10 in a non-league battle.
With the win, Asheville advances its record to 2-0 on the season. The Cougars host Franklin (Franklin, NC) to play the Panthers in a non-league battle on Thursday, September 5. The Panthers go into the battle with a record of 2-0. Franklin won 29-22 in their recent non-league battle against Smoky Mountain (Sylva, NC)
The Chargers now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they host Charlotte Catholic for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 5. Providence Day will play a Cougars team coming off a 28-6 non-league win over Chambers (Charlotte, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 2-0.
