August 29, 2024: New London, NC 28127 The North Stanly Comets football squad scored 35 points and limited the visiting East Rowan Mustangs to 6 in the Comets non-league triumph on Thursday.
The Comets now hold a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Western Alamance for a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. North Stanly will meet a Warriors squad coming off a 19-14 non-league loss to Reidsville (Reidsville, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 0-1.
With the defeat, East Rowan drops to 1-1 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Salisbury (Salisbury, NC) to meet the Hornets in a non-league test on Thursday, September 5. The Hornets come into the test with a record of 1-1. Salisbury won 16-6 in their recent non-league test against Walkertown (Walkertown, NC)
