The crowd at Thursday's non-league contest between the South Columbus Stallions (Tabor City, NC) and the host South Brunswick Cougars (Southport, NC), witnessed South Columbus's football squad knock off South Brunswick by a tally of 24-16.

The Stallions (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against East Bladen (Elizabethtown, NC). The Eagles enter the non-league contest with a 1-0 record. In their last contest, East Bladen gained a win over West Bladen (Bladenboro, NC), 36-0, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Cougars battle the St. Pauls Bulldogs (St. Pauls, NC) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, September 5. South Brunswick will attempt to better on its 0-2 season record. The Bulldogs enter the contest with a 1-1 record after their 16-10 non-league win over Lee County (Sanford, NC).
