In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Perry Pumas volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Desert Vista Thunder.

The Pumas (1-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Corona del Sol (Tempe, AZ). The Aztecs come into the non-league challenge with a 0-0 record.

Next, the Thunder meet the Tucson High Magnet School Badgers (Tucson, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 3. Desert Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record.
