Virginia High School Football - Clarke County crushed by James Wood
August 29, 2025: Berryville, VA 22611 James Wood Colonels (Winchester, VA) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they observed their football squad crush the host Clarke County Eagles (Berryville, VA), 44-3 in a non-league test.
The Colonels now hold a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Dominion for a non-league challenge on Friday, September 5. James Wood will face a Titans team coming off a 49-7 non-league loss to Potomac Falls (Sterling, VA). The Titans record now stands at 0-1.
With the defeat, Clarke County drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Eagles host Fort Defiance (Fort Defiance, VA) to meet the Indians in a non-league test on Friday, September 5. The Indians come into the test with a record of 0-1. Fort Defiance lost 35-15 in their recent non-league test against Turner Ashby (Bridgewater, VA)
