In Friday's non-league game, the Taft Raiders (San Antonio, TX) football team edged the host Clemens Buffaloes (Schertz, TX), by a tally of 17-14.

In their next game, the Raiders face the Eagle Pass Eagles (Eagle Pass, TX) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 5. Taft will attempt to better on its 1-0 season record. The Eagles enter the game with a 1-0 record after their 47-0 non-league win over Winn (Eagle Pass, TX).

With the defeat, Clemens drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Del Valle (Del Valle, TX) to clash with the Cardinals in a non-league outing on Friday, September 5.
