The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) and the host Community School of Davidson Spartans (Davidson, NC), witnessed South Mecklenburg's football squad edge Community School of Davidson by a tally of 16-13.

The Sabres (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Ballantyne Ridge (Charlotte, NC). The Wolves enter the non-league contest with a 0-2 record. In their last contest, Ballantyne Ridge was nudged by Marvin Ridge (Waxhaw, NC), 38-12, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Spartans confront the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets (Marshville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, September 5. Community School of Davidson will attempt to advance on its 0-2 season record. The Yellow Jackets go into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 42-0 non-league win over Fairmont (Fairmont, NC).
