North Carolina High School Football - Crest holds off Shelby

The Crest Chargers (Shelby, NC) football edged the host Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC), 31-24 in Friday's non-league game.

In their next game, the Chargers face the Asheville Cougars (Asheville, NC) in a non-league game, on Friday, September 5. Crest will attempt to better on its 2-0 season record. The Cougars enter the game with a 1-1 record after their 21-7 non-league loss to Dobyns-Bennett (Kingsport, TN).

The Golden Lions (0-2) will now prepare for their game against Highland Tech (Gastonia, NC). The Rams enter the Southern Piedmont 2A/3A/4A game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Highland Tech was edged by Lincoln Charter (Denver, NC), 50-6, in a non-league game.
