In Friday's non-league game, the Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA) football team overcame the host Cumberland Gap Panthers (Cumberland Gap, TN), by a tally of 36-27.

In their next game, the Pioneers battle the Lee Generals (Jonesville, VA) in a non-league outing, on Friday, September 5. Thomas Walker will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record. The Generals come into the outing with a 0-2 record after their 49-14 league loss to Union (Big Stone Gap, VA).

With the defeat, Cumberland Gap drops to 1-1 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Cosby (Cosby, TN) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league outing on Friday, September 5.
