The De Kalb Bears football squad scored 42 points and limited the visiting Mineola Yellowjackets to 13 in the Bears non-league triumph on Friday.

The Bears now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Pittsburg for a non-league test on Friday, September 5. De Kalb will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 33-20 non-league win over Liberty-Eylau (Texarkana, TX). The Pirates record now stands at 1-0.

With the defeat, Mineola drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets travel to Scurry-Rosser (Scurry, TX) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Friday, September 5. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Scurry-Rosser lost 31-28 in their recent non-league challenge against Italy (Italy, TX)
