Emerald Vikings (Greenwood, SC) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Travelers Rest Devildogs (Travelers Rest, SC), 28-7 in a non-league battle.

With the triumph, Emerald upgrades its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Vikings host Woodruff (Woodruff, SC) to confront the Wolverines in a non-league match on Friday, September 5. The Wolverines come into the match with a record of 2-0. Woodruff won 46-27 in their recent non-league match against Fountain Inn (Fountain Inn, SC)

Coming up next, the Devildogs confront the Palmetto Mustangs (Williamston, SC) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 5. Travelers Rest will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Mustangs come into the match with a 0-2 record after their 21-6 non-league loss to Crescent (Iva, SC).
