In Friday's non-league match, the host Panther Creek Catamounts football squad scored a close 11-6 triumph over the Hillside Hornets.

The Catamounts (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Knightdale (Knightdale, NC). The Knights come into the non-league match with a 0-2 record. In their last match, Knightdale was nudged by Enloe (Raleigh, NC), 55-25, in a non-league match.

Coming up next, the Hornets meet the Dudley Panthers (Greensboro, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 5. Hillside will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Panthers come into the match with a 0-2 record after their 31-6 non-league loss to Southeast Raleigh (Raleigh, NC).
