The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the La Joya Coyotes (La Joya, TX) and the visiting Rivera Raiders (Brownsville, TX), saw La Joya's football team prevail over Rivera by a final score of 45-28.

With the win, La Joya advances its record to 1-0 on the season. The Coyotes host Lopez (Brownsville, TX) to confront the Lobos in a non-league contest on Friday, September 5. The Lobos enter the contest with a record of 1-0. Lopez won 40-23 in their recent non-league contest against Juarez-Lincoln (La Joya, TX)

Coming up next, the Raiders confront the Edinburg North Cougars (Edinburg, TX) in a non-league match, on Thursday, September 4. Rivera will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record. The Cougars go into the battle with a 0-1 record after their 38-2 non-league loss to Vela (Edinburg, TX).
