Lower Richland Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC) fans went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team triumph over the visiting Spring Valley Vikings (Columbia, SC), 41-9 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Lower Richland improves its record to 1-1 on the season. The Diamond Hornets travel to Colleton County (Walterboro, SC) to play the Cougars in a non-league battle on Friday, September 5. The Cougars go into the battle with a record of 0-2. Colleton County lost 20-7 in their recent non-league match against Woodland (Dorchester, SC)

Coming up next, the Vikings meet the Chapin Eagles (Chapin, SC) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 5. Spring Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Eagles come into the match with a 0-2 record after their 48-6 non-league loss to A.C. Flora (Columbia, SC).
