North Carolina High School Football - Union Pines can't hold off Pinecrest

August 29, 2025: Cameron, NC 28326

Pinecrest Patriots (Southern Pines, NC) followers went home pleased Friday as they saw their football team nip the host Union Pines Vikings (Cameron, NC), 21-16 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Pinecrest advances its record to 1-1 on the season. The Patriots travel to Davie County (Mocksville, NC) to meet the War Eagles in a non-league match on Friday, September 5. The War Eagles come into the match with a record of 1-1. Davie County won 30-20 in their recent non-league match against West Rowan (Mt. Ulla, NC)

Coming up next, the Vikings meet the Eastern Randolph Wildcats (Ramseur, NC) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 5. Union Pines will attempt to upgrade on its 1-1 season record. The Wildcats come into the match with a 2-0 record after their 35-14 non-league win over Randleman (Randleman, NC).
