Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Dawson Eagles (Pearland, TX) and the host Austin Maroons (Austin, TX), observed Dawson's volleyball team hold off Austin by a count of 2-1.

The Eagles (20-3) will now prepare for their contest against Eagle Mountain (Fort Worth, TX). The Knights go into the non-league battle with a 14-7 record. In their last battle, Eagle Mountain tipped Clark (San Antonio, TX), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Maroons now own a 21-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cathedral Catholic for a non-league contest on Friday, August 29. Austin will battle a Dons team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Vandegrift (Austin, TX). The Dons record now stands at 2-0.
