In Friday's non-league challenge, the visiting Malakoff Tigers volleyball squad scored a 3-1 win over the Rice Bulldogs.

With the win, Malakoff improves its record to 17-4 on the season. The Tigers travel to Frankston (Frankston, TX) to face the Indians in a non-league test on Tuesday, September 2. The Indians go into the test with a record of 3-8. Frankston won 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Neches (Neches, TX)

Next, the Bulldogs meet the Blooming Grove Lions (Blooming Grove, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, August 30. Rice will attempt to advance on its 9-10 season record. The Lions go into the test with a 9-6 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Buffalo (Buffalo, TX).
