The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Blacksburg Bruins (Blacksburg, VA) and the visiting Giles Spartans (Pearisburg, VA), witnessed Blacksburg's football squad knock off Giles by a tally of 32-12.

The Bruins (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Lord Botetourt (Daleville, VA). The Cavaliers enter the non-league contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Lord Botetourt was toppled by Glass (Lynchburg, VA), 11-8, in a non-league contest.

Coming up next, the Spartans battle the Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA) in a non-league contest, on Friday, September 6. Giles will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Bobcats enter the contest with a 0-1 record after their 28-7 non-league loss to George Wythe (Wytheville, VA).
