The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Peoria Lions (Peoria, IL) and the visiting Centennial Chargers (Champaign, IL), witnessed Peoria's football squad wallop Centennial by a tally of 56-21.

The Lions (1-0) will now prepare for their contest against Peoria Notre Dame (Peoria, IL). The Irish enter the Big Twelve contest with a 0-1 record. In their last contest, Peoria Notre Dame was trounced by Normal West (Normal, IL), 33-27, in a league contest.

Coming up next, the Chargers battle the Champaign Central Maroons (Champaign, IL) in a Big Twelve contest, on Friday, September 6. Centennial will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record.
