The Union Grove Lions football squad scored 27 points and limited the host Como-Pickton Eagles to 8 in the Lions non-league triumph on Friday.

The Lions now sport a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Cumby for a non-league test on Friday, September 6. Union Grove will meet a Trojans squad coming off a 49-30 non-league loss to Tom Bean (Tom Bean, TX). The Trojans record now stands at 0-1.

With the defeat, Como-Pickton drops to 0-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Big Sandy (Big Sandy, TX) to meet the Wildcats in a non-league test on Friday, September 6.
